Welcome to the combined Medicine – Pediatrics residency training program! Thank you for your interest in our program. The Duke Med – Peds program was started in 1986 and has maintained a strong presence at Duke since that time. The Duke Med – Peds residency program offers a diverse training in both adult and pediatric medicine with substantial experiences in primary care and subspecialty medicine.
The people are the key component to our success. We have outstanding housestaff who hail from across the country and comprise our diverse group of trainees. They are hard working, enthusiastic, dedicated and outgoing people. Our residents excel in clinical care, education and leadership and are widely recognized at the institution for these efforts. Our program is well integrated in both departments and with both of the categorical residency programs in Medicine and Pediatrics. The Med – Peds program leadership collaborates closely with our colleagues to ensure an outstanding educational experience for our trainees.
At Duke, trainees have the opportunity to work closely with a large group of faculty in clinical medicine. There are also a host of research opportunities available to trainees.
We have dedicated combined trained faculty who work in our primary care section and in the subspecialty divisions. They have a variety of interests in outpatient and inpatient clinical care, education, research, and global health.
We invite you to read more about our program and we encourage you to contact us with questions!
Sincerely,
Suzanne K. Woods, MD
